I Have Felt Failure, More Than Once!

Do you feel like a failure?

Do you look around and wonder why everyone else seems to have it together—and why you haven’t reached “success”?

I’ve had those feelings more often than I care to admit.

Just under four years ago, my life was a dark pit. Within the span of 45 days, I lost one of my dearest relatives and friends, gave birth in the second trimester far too early, sat in the hospital with my youngest child, and watched a love-affair of a career come to a screeching halt.

I was unwell.

With time, grace, and a great deal of moxie, I started the F’ing Up Podcast. Sunday, January 25, marked the 3-year anniversary of its launch.

The podcast saved me.

It got me out of bed.
It gave me purpose.
It brought me back to what I love most—connecting with and helping others.

Since then, I’ve had countless people reach out to tell me they felt relief hearing the stories of my guests. Relief in knowing they weren’t alone in their discomfort, their grief, their confusion, or their sense of failure. Relief that maybe they weren’t broken—just human.

Here’s what I know now:

Feeling like a failure is often a signal, not a verdict.

Most people don’t need more motivation or platitudes. They need someone to sit with them honestly, help them make sense of what has taken place in their career, and aid them in gaining clarity to determine what’s next.

That’s the work I do as a Success Mentor.

I help people who feel stuck, behind, or quietly ashamed of where they are. This could be people who haven’t felt their career take off, who got laid off or fired, or who may look successful on paper but feel disconnected from their careers.

I help people find clarity, truth, and a path forward that actually fits them.

EVERYONE goes through experiences and times feeling like a failure. The important thing is that you don’t get stuck and find a way to turn those feelings into a catalyst for success. Sometimes clarity starts with one honest conversation.
